Earning Your RN Degree From An Accredited School
Congratulations on knowing what you want to do with your life! Nursing is an exciting and high-demand career that鈥檚 also rewarding.
Your career in nursing will also challenge you as you face many different types of situations and meet with a variety of people. Choosing the right nursing program will go a long way in ensuring that you are able to meet the demands of being a nurse while also providing the appropriate personal touch when helping the patients in your care. Earning your Registered Nursing (RN) degree from an accredited school is an important first step.
What Is Accreditation?
Accreditation ensures that the nursing program meets a particular level of standards. Becoming accredited is voluntary for schools, but it shows that the university or career school desires to provide a high level of education with a commitment to accountability and self-evaluation. With accreditation, a school can offer programmatic quality assurance with their programs. Students can know that their courses will prepare them for the career that they want.
Nurses must meet certain requirements in the state of Florida in order to practice. Without proper accreditation and licensing, the education that you receive can鈥檛 be guaranteed as adequate for meeting state licensing requirements for nursing.
Accreditation also means that the program itself may equip you for handling the types of situations you may face as a nurse. RNs want to provide the highest level of care for their patients, and that means that getting the right education should be top priority when preparing for success as a practicing RN.
