Many of an emergency Nurse鈥檚 duties also include:

  • Identifying the medical problem
  • Documenting the medical history
  • Checking for allergies and current medications
  • Obtaining height, weight, body temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, etc.
  • Moving patients
  • Taking blood samples
  • Cleaning and bandaging wounds
  • Administering medications
  • Maintaining proper supplies of medical equipment

Forensic Nurses On The Job

It is important for emergency Nurses to not only abide by standard protocol and other health care policies that all Nurses adhere to, but also exhibit emotional stability, leadership and sympathy in order to ensure patients are in good hands.

As for education, Emergency Nurses must earn an associate or bachelors degree in Nursing, or a diploma from a hospital that contains a Nursing program.
