Dr. Shawn McPartland, M.D., J.D.
Dr. McPartland has previously practiced primary care medicine as a solo practitioner, obtaining board certification in family medicine after his residency.聽 He later received his law degree, passed the bar examination, and also obtained credentials as a certified civil mediator.聽 After years in the legal arena, and as a medicolegal consultant, he entered higher education, filling roles as an adjunct professor, full professor, academic dean, regional dean, program director, teaching and learning community chair, and university department chair.聽 He is a full professor and Director of Clinical Education for a Program in Physician Associate Medicine.
Dr. McPartland has authored multiple textbook chapters and is a frequent reviewer for the academic publishing industry, particularly in pharmacology, as well as serving as an active medicolegal consultant. He is also certified as a Tiny Earth Partner Instructor after completing training in the microbiology labs at Johns Hopkins University, to bring original, iterative undergraduate research to his former institution. Dr. McPartland has served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for a non-profit charter school in Palm Beach County, whose mission is to educate migrant children in the community. His hobbies include spending time with his family, especially on the pickleball courts of Palm Beach County.
Dr. McPartland has been an online adjunct instructor at 六六社 since 2014, teaching Anatomy and Physiology I and II, General Biology, and Microbiology. What he likes most about teaching at 六六社 is his interactions with the students during weekly online sessions and on the discussion boards. He also finds bringing up the next generation of healthcare professionals to be very rewarding.
